A Senior Jewel advanced strike & intelligence, surveillance, & reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft performs an operational test & evaluation sortie with an F-16C escort over the western United States. This hypothetical aviation magazine cover depicts an October 2027 test event. The original 16” x 20” acrylic painting was completed in 2012 and contains only the magazine title letters. Text for the magazine date and content were added only on reproductions by the printer. Senior Jewel is a hypothetical U.S. Department of Defense program involving the main aviation vehicle, multiple reconnaissance sensors, mini-uninhabited combat aerial vehicles (UCAV’s), and air-to-ground weapons. The main vehicle originated from the YF-23, but is 30% larger and features a two-person cockpit, a single diamond delta wing, more conventional vertical stabilizers, and tandem internal weapons bays. This is the first of at least 3 pictures featuring Senior Jewel.
